Rape. The dictionary defines ‘Rape is a word for sexual assault’ But for many women around the world rape means the loss of their dignity, The loss of their self worth and the loss of their lifes as they knew it. For something that is so damaging for women rape is not talked about enough.

Although many young girls have the occasional discussion about Rape and Sexual assault in the classroom, It most certainly isn't talked about enough. One of the reasons for this is because it is such a touchy subject that could upset a lot of people. The statistics are overwhelming. He was accused and convicted of sexualy assulting a girl at a party in Santa Clara, 2015. The girl was drunk at a party and was unable to form an sentence and was also nearly unconscious. Turner sexually assaulted to twenty-two year old until he was stopped by two swedish students at the party. Turner tried to run but he was tackled by the students and held down until police arrived. After a trail Turner was convicted of six months in jail with the chance of an early release of three months on good behaviour. In america there was another teenager being sent to jail in 2015 called Jacob Lavoro. He had baked and attempted to sell Pot brownies. For his crime jacob was being sentenced to life in jail. This was later changed to twenty years in jail. Brock Turner's father stated that his son should not have to go to jail for “Twenty minutes of action”. Many people have shown support for the family through an support facebook page and have said that he was just an young man who made a bad mistake. But the reality is Jacob was also a young man like Brock. He was younger. He is now spending twenty years in jail for making brownies.
