At UF my major is Finance with a minor in Real Estate, I’ve always been interested in Finance ever since when I was 13 my grandfather gave me money to invest in the stock market. With my minor in Real Estate I got interested in that when I had the chance to shadow a family friend who was involved with Commercial Real Estate and I thought it was awesome how he had the ability to buy and sell major buildings in Charlotte, North Carolina. But personally now that I have gotten to have my own experiences in the Financial field through investing and shadowing in Real Estate I am now trying to decide if I want to work in the investment banking world or Commercial Real Estate and over the next few years that will be my main question. The first company that I was applying for was with Fifth Third Bank it was more of a beginning position where they only wanted one year of prior experience. This job was mainly asking for a person who would be able to meet with the clients and than report back to the company with presentations. While the job with Morgan Stanley was a higher up job where they wanted a few years of experience in the field with more detailed banking terminology such as what loans and cash deposits clients are taking. The main difference between my two cover letters is how I was talking to the companies they both highly value their customer experience but Morgan Stanley puts a very high value on giving back to the community and the world as a hole while Fifth Third Bank was very focused on building a community of inclusive people who are respectful and helpful to their clients making it a positive experience for all. The reason that the leadership and experience portions couldn’t be fine tuned to the specific jobs that I was applying for was because to have enough information to fill up a page I didn’t have the ability to pick and choose experiences I just had to use all of them for both. But the objective was different in very much the same way that the cover letters was different first off the job title was different but for Fifth Third Bank they wanted someone good at presentations, while at Morgan Stanley they wanted someone who was technically gifted at banking and its many facets. So for the Fifth Third Bank resume to make it stronger I would like to participate in a case competition this semester to try and make my resume stronger in my presentation aspects. While for my resume with Morgan Stanley to make it stronger I would like to be able to build on my business knowledge. To do this I would like to have an internship with an investment banking firm when I study abroad in London I should get an internship or in the field of commercial Real Estate which would still help me out with just understanding the culture of wealthy finances. All in all I just need to have more experiences more directly related to the financial field because as of right now I have not had an official internship and I am
