Today we are launching a campaign called Real Women Real Bodies. I am reaching out to you because we need your help. We want to the idea of a perfect body and to do this, we need everyone involved. This is the first campaign to encourage a healthy body image. We want to try to mobilize as many women and men as possible to be advocates for change. And, we don’t just want to talk about it. We want to try to make sure it’s concrete. I was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women Body Image a year ago. And, the more I spoke about body image, the more I realized that the media plays a huge role in defining what a perfect body image is. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.

Body image is your issue too. I've seen how my guy friends lift everyday in order to get buff to get a girl's attention. In fact, 12 percent of teen boys use unproven supplements and/or steroids. I've seen boys in my grade suffer from trying to either become or maintain a perfect body image, unable to ask for help for fear it makes them less of a man.
Both men and women should feel free to make their own decisions about their body without being judged. Both men and women should feel free to become their own person. Today, we all perceive an unhealthy body image without realizing it. If we stop letting the media persuade us from their body image, we call all start becoming more confident on how we look like, and this is what Real Women Real Bodies is about. It's about self-confidence.
I want children, young adults, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters to all realize that the media's body image should not influence how us on how we perceive our body's. We shouldn't let them take over our conscious. I feel like it's my responsibility to bring awareness about this crucial subject that everyone is suffering through. A perfect body
