The first option is currently available and will continue to be available if and when your leave balances are exhausted. Pursuant to the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Department will provide you with a reasonable accommodation that will enable you to perform the essential functions of your job. Reasonable accommodation includes (but is not limited to) any reasonable adjustment/modification to the work environment, modified work schedule, reasonable period of unpaid leave, job restructuring, acquiring and/or modifying equipment, providing assistive devices, and/or transfer to an alternate vacant position.
