Our class lecture on diversity was very informative the lecture went over the fundamental understanding of race, class, and gender as well as social behaviors. Understanding differences in one another helps us all to recognize and appreciate the differences within each of us. Recognizing that we have similar interests or beliefs can encourage better behavior and promote people to even perhaps be more patient with one another. Diversity can be defined as people coming together from different races, nationalities, religions and sexes to form a group, organization or community. A good organizations will encourage and harness these differences to make their services relevant and approachable. In society today, most people view diversity is a wonderful thing, because it gives people the chance to experience different things outside of what they are normally accustomed. Learning something new about a culture they may not be familiar with. Often when people lack knowledge of things that they are not accustomed to they are quick to judge or stereotype and make ignorant decisions. The different aspects of diversity are very important., diversity also plays a major role everywhere every day. Diversity can create curiosity. By being exposed to different people and cultures, people can learn more about a particular group which can give them insight into how and why things work as they do and possibly a way
