Many people all around the nation are in debate whether or not high school football should remain a sport. In addition, it was recorded that between the years 2005 and 2014, ninety-two high school football players have been killed due to football injuries. Although, high school football has been a traditional sport in all states, but many are wondering if football is truly worth the risk. However, endless numbers of parents across the nation have numerous opinions on their sons playing football or not. Nonetheless, if parents are letting their sons play this game, they understand the risks of their sons getting injured.
In 2016, there are a plethora of challenges facing professional, college, and high school athletic departments. According to Howard and Crompton (2014) the recession of 2007-2009 had a substantial impact on the sports industry across all levels. While some believe that athletes should have their own choice at making a decision to go pro straight out of high school, they should not do so because they will not be able to manage their million dollar contracts respectively. Speaking of contracts, the NBA should eliminate guaranteed contracts for rookies drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. They should do this because a careless high school kid, could just go into the draft not knowing, or caring on how much they are going to make, with the lack of experience on handling millions of dollars. This is very unrepsonsibible for a teenager, and not only for the high school athlete, but also for the basketball association as well. This is because of there noncommitment to have these players
Showing grit is a common thing for all people in sports, but one that has really stuck to me was middle school football to now. When seventh grade football started, Coach was looking at kids for certain positions and he said my name first. I instantly perked up ready to get any position on the team, but when he said I was playing second team center I was crushed. I never played on the line before. I was tall and skinny, not big and bulky.

High school football gives money to the school and improves the school. The sport I chose to observe was college football. I decided to chose this sport because football is a sport my family enjoys to watch. The game I chose to watch was a college football game between the University of Notre Dame and the University of Miami that took place at the University of Miami on Saturday, November 11, 2017. n today’s world when a majority of people think of football they think of Europe due its quality of play. The quality of play is all due to the roots of football back in the late 1800s and 1900s when football was introduced by physical educators and others in certain countries such as Germany (Guttman 47). From the beginning those who played football in Europe referred to it as “more than just a sport” which is a motto I believe Europe has lived by ever since then. Here in the United States our style of play compared to the European football is lacking incredible; the speed of play, speed agility and all aspects of the game in Major League Soccer lack what leagues such as the Premier league have. In my perspective this is due to one broad reason:
Ethical issues in sports Sports in today’s world have gained a lot of importance and there have been a lot of additions to sports in the form of new rules, policies the way it is meant to be played etc. Though many stringent laws are framed, implemented and monitored there are always some sort of issues in the way the sports activities are carried out. Regardless of the level of participation some of the players resort to unethical ways of winning the event. The attitude towards the sportsmanship has changed significantly over the years.
Adrenaline pulsing through my body and anxiety filling up in my stomach, I quickly throw on my football gear and head out to the practice field. It’s a nice hot day in Ocala, Florida, with the sun beating down on our necks, we stand side by side in line waiting to be picked to play second, third, or fourth string in a play. Waiting in anticipation, each of us grinding our teeth, watching first string pure athletes colliding against each other like gladiators to have possession of a ball made at one-time of “pig’s skin”. To some people, the game of American football makes no sense, whether it’s the idea of trying to protect a ball or running and passing it to make a goal for your team. People like this, see the concept of football and understand why millions of people love it; but to them the sport is pointless and causes way too many casualties.
Ever since I was a toddler, I loved sports. Baseball, basketball, it did not matter; I just liked to run. When I was around 4 or 5, I was in the living room watching the Steelers play the Cardinals and saw Santonio Holmes grab a game winning touchdown to win the Superbowl. I was so excited that I jumped up in the air and I told my dad, “Daddy when I grow up I want to play football and I want to score a lot of touchdowns just like 10 does.”
In this day and age with professional athletes being at the top of the social spectrum, youth sports have gotten very popular. “More than 26 million children ages 6 to 17 played team sports in 2014(Rosenwald).” Youth sports are very popular because it brings the great feeling of being on a team. When you are on a team you feel like you can do anything together, and nothing is stopping you. There are also many flaws in youth sports.
