Fish was an interesting book. Each point that the Lonnie told Mary Jane seemed very obvious to me. But as read I began to reflect on how well I am doing in the four areas that were talked about in the book. This book was a great reminder that every job has its boring and tedious aspects. But those aspects tend to be the most necessary parts of the job. I appreciated the points that Lonnie talked about because each one was built of the other. The first ingredient that Mary Jane learned from Lonnie was that you can choose your attitude. As I said before this seemed like an obvious point when I first read it. As I kept reading the point began to make me question how I have been choosing my attitude when it comes to my work. As I look back at the beginning of this semester I had no motivation or patience for classes. Which was a choice of how I viewed the work I was required to do this semester. So when I read this point Lonnie made it helped me realize that I made the wrong choice. Either way would have had to do the work but I chose to view it as unimportant. This point helped me see that I have the choice to choose how I view things and that choice can affect various aspects of my life. …show more content…
I will be tough for me to balance the idea of being professional but at the same time having a good time. I can find myself on either side of the spectrum. I can find myself being too serious about my work and letting it affect my attitude when I interact with others. I also can find myself having a fun time but also avoiding the necessary work that needs to get done. So finding out a way to mix both together will be something I need to figure out once I get more experience in a professional
