Reflective Essay: What I Learned In My Writing Class

I started my second semester and choose to take English 111. I was very nervous because I was not sure what I would be assigned to do. Knowing that I haven’t attending school in years I felt blind. But I knew this class would open my eyes and help me become a better writer as well as develop a better understanding to writing. My portfolio will show how I was able to open my mind to share personal experiences and tell my story on paper as well as how I did struggle but didn’t give up even when I felt defeated. I also learned that I needed to slow down and pay more attention to the basics such as grammar. This Essay was written about my journey on how I got to Herkimer College and the struggles I faced in the process. Although there were several grammar issues it was overall a good essay. I was very surprised by how much I was able to get down on paper.
