For instance, many of the extreme censorship reactions taken against reggaeton were partly a response to rumors that its recordings were financed by narco-trafficking. One of these scandals was the case of the famous reggaetonero, Nicky Jam, who used the Lamborghini of a Colombian drug dealer, Victor Alonso Mosquera, for his video Travesuras. Reggaeton arriving in Cuba
With reggaeton spreading around the world, in early 2000, it arrived on the Cuban shores. Reggaeton entered the country through Oriente at the beginning of the previous decade, especially in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo, which are closer to Jamaica and Puerto Rico and could receive their radio signals. Oriente is one of the six provinces of Cuba. Until 1976, it was known as Santiago de Cuba Province. Oriente Province has always had an important role in the history of Cuba. In this province, the father of the nation, Jose Marti was killed. Afterward, during the ten- year war against the Spanish inquisition, from 1868 until 1878, most of the victories were gained in Oriente.
