From the Kaiser Permanente career website, I was delighted to learn about the RN I position at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center in the Medical Telemetry Department. Kaiser Permanente is a leader in our nation’s healthcare system and has the standard for promoting wellness and disease prevention in our communities. As a result, I am excited about the possibility of being part an organization that so deeply shares the same passion as I of providing holistic and compassionate health care. After obtaining my first degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine and assisting nurses and CNAs as a Clinical Care Extender, I became inspired to pursue a career in nursing. I obtained my RN license July 2015 and graduated
Veterans Affairs Nurse What a blessing it is to have the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) providing multiple healthcare services to our heroes, our veterans! To be afforded the opportunity for our heroes to attend and be treated, at little to no cost, for a wide range of ailments from the common cold, to a mental health disability, or for the possibility of a healing surgery is a well-deserved and a wonderful privilege. One of the major demographics of care providers within the VHA is the registered nurse. There are over 51,000 registered nurses nationwide, with 60.7% of the total population of providers of healthcare, within the VA hospitals, VA outpatient clinics and VA Patient Care Medical Homes (VHA, Office of Nursing Services, 2012).
Burnout and stress can happen to any individual within any organization but if I were in charge of socializing the newly hired nurses at the local hospital I would ensure that the new nurses went through new hire orientation by knowing what the hospital stands for, mission, and expectations. I would expect them to adhere to our values and the importance of patient care and the services we provide. I would have to make certain they are qualified and right fit for the job and hospital. Ongoing training is most important and would be provided from beginning and throughout the nurse’s career. Since burnout is the underlying issue, stress counseling or various forms of relaxation methods are needed to cope with this condition.
Using Problem Solving to Address Challenges Turnover is a significant problem in many long-term care (LTC) facilities. In fact, the typical turnover rates in LTC range from 55% to 75% for nurses (Barbera, 2014). Maple Manor was no exception.

Being a Cook Children’s nurse resident has been a dream of mine since I started nursing school. I feel that the nurse residency at Cook Children’s will aid in transitioning me from being a novice nurse to becoming a more confident and competent nurse. I wish to be a Cook Children/’s nurse resident because I want to take part in the preparation that is received to facilitate the shift that is needed to provide excellence in quality and safety in extraordinary care. At the completion of the nurse residency I expect to have been given to opportunity to better the charting and documenting that is necessary for each patient.
Incivility in the Workplace and Impact on Nurse Retention Clinical Question The clinical question that is being addressed is whether nurse incivility leads to high turnover rates in the clinical setting. Nurse incivility is a serious issue that must be addressed. Studies have shown that incivility, such as bullying in the work environment is a major source of job dissatisfaction (Berry, 2016). It is important to understand that based on research studies, a healthy work environment is related to improved nurse retention and higher levels of job satisfaction (Ctsai, 2011).
It is my pleasure to be writing you regarding the openings for civilian contracted RNs of the Coronary Care Step-Down Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center. My passion and motivation for being a nurse stems from the examples of the nurses who cared for me during the numerous times I was a patient in Madigan Army Medical Center as a child. It would be an honor to work within the community that changed my life. I have been a visitor several occasions to this specific unit and have been a patient at a different hospital receiving coronary care. I’ve done extensive personal research and learned what text books will say about most of the treatments that this unit will provide; however, my ability to tell patients about my personal experiences provides a unique ability to empathize and serve this specific population.

I am deciding to apply to the University of Wisconsin-Madison because I am intrigued by the opportunities the university has to offer. During my time at UW-Madison I hope to participate in intramural sports, get a job, receive an excellent education, and much more. The city life offers a diverse culture and allows you to learn about and to appreciate life. As I want to be a part of the nursing program I would utilize the opportunity to work at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and to work alongside other students trying to achieve the same goal as I am.

Staff turnover happens so often in the nursing field, it is a shame that the reason people are leaving is due to the management. In the situation at your hospital upper management would be foolish if they did not look at the management of that department and make changes. They should be able to compare the staff retention rates of that department compared to other departments in the hospital. Of course, some people will always leave when there is a change of management but it should be minimal.
Introduction Nursing is known as professional discipline (Donaldson & Crowley, 1978). Nurses shortage is one of the significant issues in current nursing in Singapore and also in other countries. According to Buchan et al 2008, nurses shortage has a significant connection with a country’s historical staffing levels, country 's resources and it also estimates the demands for healthcare. Nursing shortages are unmeasureble, and they may be defined as professional capacity standards from an economical view.
Levett-Jones and Fitzgerald (2005) demonstrate that transition program for nurses or midwives in Australia have three goals: development of confident and competent nurses or midwives, facilitation of professional adjustment, belonging and socialization and development of a commitment to career in nursing or midwifery. Educational support consists with comprehensive orientation, study day, professional development opportunity, education program and postgraduate education pathway. Upon graduation from LaGuardia, I plan to begin my career in hospitals and work with children and families as a Registered Nurse. At the same time, I am planning to go at Hunter College to pursue a Bachelor degree in Nursing too. After successfully pursuing the BSN degree, my goal is to study for Physician Assistant and become one. The reason I am choosing this long way is that I want to gain experience as a Registered nurse in hospitals while continuing my higher education to achieve a degree in Physician Assistant. To prepare myself for the nursing career, I have been working on my weaknesses from the very first day of my college.
