Discrimination Against Irena Sendler Could someone ever have the courage to save over 2,500 Jewish children during the Holocaust? One women, Irena Sendler, did have the courage to do this. She rescued many Jewish children from Concentration Camps. She was eventually discovered and tortured for what she did, but despite the hate, she survived. Irena Sendler was inspired to do what she did, faced discrimination against her, saved many Jewish Children using different techniques, and had a lasting impact on the world.

Cohen adds, “she was...to be executed… [then]...as the line of inmates were being led to their execution, an SS officer stepped forward and said ‘not you’...he took her through a different door...he had been bribed by Zegota.
