For a young child, one of the most difficult duties to deal with is the separation from the people and objects they know and care about, such as their home, friends and family. This can be seen all over the world, weather its a young adult moving away from home, or the loss of a family member many people struggle with change and separation.
The key to getting through these situations is to believe that as an individual they have the courage to get through it. This courage is what Elie Wiesel's character Eliezer uses in the book Night to help cover and ignore his wounds quickly so that he is able to survive. His courage made it so he could survive these most horrible events even though his scars have never fully healed.

This can be very frightening at first, but as but as time goes on it gets easier. The young adult learns how to deal with the struggle of life and how to deal with the stresses and the challenges that occur. This is because that safe haven is no longer there and they have to make or find a new one. In the book night one or the first separations Eliezer has to face is the forceful separation from his home and country. This is very difficult for him to handle because that is the place he felt safest, the situation is even more difficult for him because his safe haven is being forcefully taken. This is difficult for the family because they know have to face the elements and the people without that zone of safety and they are scared. For the first while he feels out of place, but then with a straight mind, he starts to think that it wasn't the house. Rather his family that made him feel safe and he believes that with the strength he and his family have that they can get through this. That is the thought that both him and his family take with them to hold on to for the journey to
