Odysseus did not want to go war because his son, Telemachus, was just born but he went anyways. Odysseus’s abyss occurred when he sees the prophecy and saw that his mom died and everyone was still grieving. In The Odyssey there were many initiations but the most significant one was, when Odysseus and his men find the cyclops and they are not able to escape. To enable the men to escape Odysseus gets the cyclops drunk, then stabs him in the eye, and then escapes riding on the bottom of the sheep. Finally his return was when Odysseus returns to Ithica he finds that other men are trying to take over his throne.
Odysseus the Brave Hero In Homer's “The Odyssey”, the protagonist, Odysseus is fighting in the 10 year war against Troy. They win the war and now he and his men are trying to get back to their home, Ithaca. He angers the god of the sea, Poseidon, and now he has a god as an enemy. Poseidon sends waves after waves blowing him and his crew to islands, each having a conflict like monsters and goddesses.

It also created the Heliopolis Ennead which includes 9 major gods and goddesses who are worshiped in the Egyptian religion. In the beginning there was only Nun, the dark waters of chaos. Next appeared Atum (also known as Atem, or Tem), who rose out of the chaotic water using only his will and his thoughts.
As we read the Odyssey by Homer we have learned that gods and goddess were an important part of the lives of the people in ancient Greek. The people had an admiration for the gods. They would pray, ask for help in any kind of situation, and do sacrifices for them. We can also say that the gods are like a parental figure to the people in the Odyssey; if the people respected and obey them they would not get in trouble and sometimes get rewarded, but if they disrespected and disobey them chances are that they would get punished. In the Odyssey, we see that Odysseus, the main character, is the enemy of a powerful god.

Neptune was originally the god of fresh water, by 339 BCE he was identified with the greek god poseidon. Neptune was also also identified as the god of earthquakes, hurricanes, and horses. Sailors prayed to Neptune for safe voyages.

Poseidon was the god of the seas and underworld. The kingdom of the sea fell by lot to Poseidon after his three brothers deposed their father. He is known for his trident and represented as a fish, bull, and ram.
