Paris: The Memoir Research Paper Paris: The Memoir, is a memoir written by Paris Hilton focusing on her life leading up to fame and a few of the struggles she dealt with along the way. Hilton prefaces her memoir by describing her experience skydiving on her 21st birthday and briefly mentioning how ADHD impacts her behaviors as well as her thought processes. However, the majority of the novel takes place in her young teenage years. Most parents would have viewed Hilton as an overall troublesome child. She spent a large chunk of her adolescence going out, partying, and sneaking around. This quote not only clearly illustrates the physical abuse inflicted upon Hilton herself, but it also discloses the mental abuse her peers endured as they were forced to watch the attack. Another study shows, “Six women who went there between 2003 and 2017 told the Tribune similar stories of being overmedicated, restrained, and punished for minor infractions” (Miller). Hilton attended the school in 1997, meaning that this abuse has gone on for at least 20 years. Many past victims actively suffer from addiction, PTSD, suicide, and other mental illnesses after involvement in the cruel actions of the school system (Hilton 203). Shockingly, the school remains open today, even after all of the accusations against it. Misogyny is one of the dominant issues Hilton chose to focus on in her memoir.
