In the early 1900's one of the most catastrophic and well known events was the sinking of the RMS Titanic. The Titanic was a luxury ocean liner and was one of the most popular ships of its time. Everyone, young and old, poor and rich wanted a ticket on the liners first trip departing from Southampton, England and scheduled to end in New York City. The Titanic was also one of the biggest ships of the time at 883 feet long and the ability to hold over 2,000 passengers. It was one of the biggest of its time and was considered unsinkable, but as the saying goes nothing is impossible.
