~John 3:16 (NIV)~ For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not parish but have eternal life. Question #2: Have you ever considered the Bible from this perspective before? Answer #2: Since a very young age, I have known that Jesus is the main theme of the Bible and that He died for our salvation.
In Fred Sanders’ sermon “Theology of the Trinity,” which focuses on 1 John, Sanders explains that John summed up his theology of God in a single statement: “God is light” (Biola University “Fred Sanders”). Although Sanders notes that summarizing is not always helpful, especially when discussing specific, complicated truths, John’s statement is actually sufficient to summarize the entire Gospel because different nuances of light are implied. First, Jesus is the ‘light’ who accurately “…reveals the Father” because “Light is naked truth” (Biola University “Fred Sanders”). Moreover, the idea of light reminds us that God is holy. As Sanders states, “Darkness is absolutely incompatible with the God who is light…
The Shasta and Trinity Forest Reserves were established by President Theodore Roosevelt’s proclamations in 1905. The forests combined administratively in 1954 and officially became the Shasta-Trinity National Forest (Shasta-Trinity or SHF). The Shasta-Trinity, the largest in California, encompasses 2.1 million acres with over 6,278 miles of streams and rivers. It ranges in elevation from 1,000 feet (Shasta Lake general area) to Mt. Shasta with an elevation of 14,162 feet.
The Holy Trinity in Christianity refers to the relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. When Flannery uses the 3 as a symbol she references the certain doom of her characters. Additionally, this is not the only place Flannery uses the 3. At the end of the story A Good Man is Hard to Find when the character is faced with the afterlife, O'Connor writes, "The Misfit sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her three times through the chest.¨ This quote
Jesus Christ was the prime being revealing this one supreme God to them, but Jesus Christ was not of the same substance (homoousia) with God the Father as in Trinitarian theology. Rather, as in Arian theology, Jesus Christ was of similar substance (homoiousia). The fear was that Trinitarianism
As we look and understand the Trinity, we should never remove
The doctrine of the Trinity explains several parts of both our orthodoxy as well as our orthopraxy. Frankly, there are many things that we do now (and have done for most of Christian history) that do not make any logical sense without it. Prayer is does not line up logically without both a Holy Spirit as well as a Father. How else could we believe that our words would ever be sufficient for the Creator? Romans tells us that the Holy Spirit intercedes and becomes the interpreter between us and the Father.
The Matrix is a really good movie with many connections to the world and many different themes, but a really big parallel is the biblical aspects of this movie. This movie is not just a sci-fi thriller after watching it i noticed all the components of the bible. One of the more noticeable parallels is neo, morpheus, and trinity. They are the special trio like the father, son, and the holy spirit. Morpheus would be the father because he guides neo in the right direction, neo would be the son because he sacrifices himself for everyone else, and trinity is the power of three, she is the holy spirit because she brings neo back to life.
John 1:1 States that “[I]n the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This statement is one of a few that Trinitarians believe to prove their belief in the idea of the Trinity. The Trinity is a belief that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all one being. The dogmatic “doctrine” of the trinity is not taught in the bible, there are only a few passages that were wrongly interpreted that these claims are based from. The bible itself disproves the theory that the three entities, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings, operating together to bring the will of God to the world.
Still, not only do John, Peter, and Paul acknowledge Jesus as God incarnate, but so does Jesus himself. Simply, in the Gospel of John, Jesus declares, "The Father and I are one" (10:30). Second, if Jesus was merely a prophet or wise teacher, then it would cast a bright light on an elephant in the room. Namely, how could his sacrifice upon the cross have been a means of atonement and new life for the world?
Abraham specifically refers them as a singular being and calls them Lord in the singular sense. The text makes it clear that although there are three persons, all are the Lord and all are one in unity (Thurmer 14). I will now explain the trinity from a more logical standpoint. Logic begins with a basic premise and then results in a conclusion. (Macchia 1).
Without the symbolism that much of the art contains in cathedrals, the cathedral would hold no theological weight. By definition, symbolism is the portrayal of specific events and concepts using images (Inc., 2013). When looking at stained glass windows that bare illustration, symbolism becomes a major part of analysis. Richard Stemps (2016) proposes the glass itself owns deeps relationships with light, broadening the theological nuances to the glass subjects (p. 36). This idea steams from the biblical verses that were used earlier (Rev. 21:5; 19).
New Testament reflection According to the New Testament, Jesus was referred to using various names or titles which include Emmanuel, Christ, The Word, the Lamb of God and Jesus. The role of Jesus is an essential aspect as far as the life and mission of Jesus are concerned as well as the way Jesus character is influencing believers (Willmington, 2017b). There are various impacts the life of Jesus has in the Christian life as well as many factors that led to the spread of Christianity to all corners of the world. It is significant after learning about the life of Jesus to consider the Significance of Johannine Literature that explains in details about the works of the New Testament.
3:16, 17; 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14). In the Nicene Creed, it also states that the Father and Son are together worshiped and my interpretation is that the Holy Spirit is a way of connecting with the Father and Son while they are all 3 in one. Later on they state that the Father is the creator of heaven and of earth, The Lord Jesus Christ, is eternal and only begotten Son of the Father that he is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and by His sinless life, miracles and teaching, gave full revelation of the Father. They state that He died upon the cross, He is at the right hand of the Majesty and He will come again to establish His kingdom in righteousness and peace.
PERSONS OF THE TRINITY We serve One God. The Bible supports the oneness of God, but we must understand that all three persons of the Trinity are God. Throughout the Bible we see indications that God is the “Heavenly Father”. For example, 2 Corinthians 6:18 tells us, “And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (NLT). Psalm 89:26 says, “He shall cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation’” (NKJV).
