Valley Forge- Dec. 19 1777-June 19 1778. Valley Forge was the a winter camp for the continental army. This winter was one of the toughest winters the army faced. They lacked enough food and supplies that they need most. Washington had the toughest job: keeping the army together.
Everglades National Park is one of the largest and most-well known national parks in the United States. This national park is special in that it was not preserved for its wonders, but because of the conservation and protection of its fragile ecosystem. Everglades National Park currently covers 1,509,000 acres of land (stretching through Dade, Collier and Monroe county), making it the third largest national park in the contiguous 48 states smaller than Death Valley National Park and Yellowstone National Park. The Everglades is located on the southern section of the Florida Peninsula.
Yosemite and the Golbi Desert, two very iconic and historical landscapes, both verbally illustrated by different authors in their own articles. The two authors, John Muir and Timothy Severin, have their own style of writing, which do have differences from each other. It's almost as if you were to compare the imaginative mind of a five-year old to a more grown teenager. Both authors have very effective forms of description, but they wouldn’t be able to serve the same purpose. For example, if they were to have to write a script for a commercial, John Muir, author of the Yosemite author, would be more affective and attention grabbing.
Forest Acres is a community located in Richland County of Columbia, South Carolina. It is a community that was incorporated in the year 1935 near the waters of Dent’s Pond, now known as Forest Lake, due to John Hughes Cooper and James Henry Hammond both having real estate interests in the area. After Cooper purchased Dent’s Pond (Forest Lake) and 1,700 acres of land, Hammond purchased 67 acres from Cooper on Quinine Hill; developing it into a suburban area for local businessmen who worked in the downtown area. In order for Cooper and Hammond to name this location, a petition was signed by residents; voting on whether to name the area Forest Acres or Quinine Hill. The Battle of Chattanooga was a very important battle part of the Civil War. Inside that battle were a few other important small battles, one being the Battle of Lookout Mountain. The Battle of Lookout Mountain was important in helping get an advantage in the Battle of Chattanooga. This battle was also significant for many reasons. In this battle, each side progressed a lot for each side to end up where they were when the battle was over.
Topic 2- Valley Fair Calling all daredevils! Valley Fair is an exhilarating yet fun amusement park which is loaded with nerve racking rides and even a ginormous waterpark! Some awesome rides you can go on is the Corkscrew, the Excalibur, and the High Roller. Maybe after the rides you just want to chill. In the waterpark there is a lazy river in which all you do is lay on a tube and go in circles.
Yolo comes from the Indian word “yo-loy” which means “abounding in the rushes.” Yolo is one of California’s 27 counties that was created in 1850 which was around the same time California became a state. Yolo county is approximately 1,014 square miles and is located in the agricultural regions in the central valley sitting west of the Sacramento River Delta and north of Napa and Solano County in California. Yolo is a rural area which has plenty of space that is underdeveloped. There are 4 developed cities within Yolo and they are: Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento, and the city of Winters.
The Oregon Trail Nebraska was the first state to join the Union after the Civil War. This state is mostly known for its cattle, corn, and unicameral legislature. However, Nebraska is also known for its historic trails, which in the early years were carved out by pioneers, explorers and gold seekers into the western frontier. The history of Nebraska during the 1800s is unique because of the Oregon Trail; Nebraska played an important role in the Oregon Trail. Some people thought it was preposterous to travel the Oregon Trail to move into an unknown country.

Traveling over 1,500 miles, through what would become the four states of Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, and finally Montana, the fugitive Nez Perce kept moving – they were determined to reach safety for themselves and their families. Their long journey took them through the newly established Yellowstone National Park where they encountered several groups of tourists. The journey lasted more than three months, across mountains, rivers, and prairies. The U.S. Army, commanded by General Oliver O. Howard, pursued them most of the way until Colonel Nelson A. For hundreds of years historians have attempted to preserve our nation’s greatest wildlife national parks. In 1916, president Woodrow Wilson signed an act to create the National Park Service. This act was designed for the protection of the 35 national parks and monuments, also those yet to be announced. The act was important because it allowed the federal bureau the privilege to act upon anyone harming the national parks or monuments. Throughout the book Mark Spence expressed how the Wilderness Act that was passed in 1964 factored into the three different parks and the dispossession of the native indians.

Yosemite has many distinctive rock features and waterfalls that are popular attractions for tourists. An act of congress elected Yosemite to be a National Park on October 1st, 1890.
Current consensus on global climate change is not promising. My family is a huge fan of the Jurassic Park franchise. Heck, even my brother gets to be this dinosaur prodigy all of a sudden in his early years. So, I could safely say that Jurassic Park is a part of my childhood too. When I heard that they're making a new Jurassic movie after twenty years, I was shocked. I was really excited to see what would happen on screen.
