Who Done it? Do you ever stop and think who is responsible for a family member or someone close death’s? Well in Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare people have been wondering who is the cause of their demise for a long time. Lois Kershen has written a paper on who is responsible. Her essay is a wonderful paper on it, but I would like to give my own interpretation. Their are three different answer to this question and they are: the people around the Romeo and Juliet, themselves, and the authority figure in the play. Any one of these can be arguable the cause, but i believe all the evidence points towards the prince himself. The prince who was in charge had the authority to put an end to the feud of Romeo and Juliet’s family and could have stop the death of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet are still kids. They think they are in love with each other, but this kind of emotion for a teen makes them unnecessary actions. In Act 4 scene 1 Juliet decides to go to Fiar Lawrence to fake her death so Romeo can return. That is a crazy idea tot fake your death just to see your boyfriend. In teens brain in construction it says that the brain is trying different and new hormones. Thus making the teens do crazy and stupid things. The environment in which Romeo and Juliet lived in also contributes to them killing themselves. The environment of their hometown has kids marry at the age of 14 and Juliet’s family pressured her into getting married. Making kids marry at such a young age is stupid because kids have not matured to the world and do not now good choices in marriage. With Juliet’s family pressuring her and not being truly loved by them is making her yearn to be loved. When someone who loves her comes around she wants to stay by that person side forever thus making her do idiotic actions to stay by
