This program is a non-medical home care program that aids low-income seniors, adults and children with disabilities. This service pays for someone to go out to the client’s home and help with “chores.” There is also the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) that helps agencies plan, develop, and coordinate services for older adults 60 years of age or older. The AAA gets about 2 million dollars in grants and gives those funds to local non-profit agencies. The AAA funds more than a handful of services including; outreach, medals, legal services, family caregiver support and many more.

Assisted living is there for those who are able to do most on their own but still need help doing some of their everyday activities. This department is in the health care field because a lot of people die because they fall or something happens when they are doing something they can’t necessarily do. So assisted living gives them the opportunity to still be independent but always have someone on site that can help when needed. In Assisted Living, the older population is mainly the ones getting served here. The ages range, but you cannot live in Assisted Living at Wind Crest under the age of 65 (Erickson, 2016).
This provides insight into the appeal it has for the elderly population as the median age a few blocks away is 31 years old, which is closer to the national average of 37 years old. This area is especially conducive to older adults however, does not provide many assets needed for others at different stages of the age spectrum. This would include schools, day cares, businesses and other forms of employment. However, the unique abundance of rehabilitation centers, parks and hospitals make this area an ideal area for older adults.
Senior Living Lubbock and Companionship For many seniors, life took an unexpected turn. Their plans for a white picket fence protecting a brood of grandkids and vacations on the beach with their spouse did not turn out as planned. Instead, these seniors found themselves isolated and alone with a true lack of companionship. If a senior is living in Lubbock, there is an answer.
More importantly, they wanted to create a safe haven where the old would be respected and treated with dignity. The two founders wanted their nursing home to be a second chance for the senior citizens where they would be allowed to live life to the fullest. This dream came to pass in 1974 when the nursing home was founded. One of the founding basis of Warm Hearth Village is ensuring that the beauty of nature and clean environment is maintained and protected. The beauty of retirement is to be in a warm and caring environment that allows one to age gracefully.

The primary retirement community is named Cornerstone while the specialty memory support center is called Bunchwood View. Highlands Ranch: A Service Plan Proposal Highlighting Older Adults The United States is in the midst of a major demographic shift. People are living longer which means that the population of older adults, those sixty years and over, is growing. As public libraries struggle to remain relevant in today’s society and respond to the changing needs of older adults, it is important to become more than just a place to check out a book. Libraries need to become destination points and engagement centers which act as anchors to their communities and encourage patrons to seek out their services (McDonald, 2011).
These facilities can be improved to reach higher expectations and tremendous rewards, but in order to do so, these events taking place in nursing homes and assisted living centers need to stop immediately. One way these facilities can improve is to require further education for the employees to complete so there will be an increased amount of suitable crowds hired to work. These facilities are already unbearably expensive so it would be an easy fix to use part of that money to raise the employee’s pay. Once there is a better group of employees with higher education and better pay, then there should be improvement in the care the residents receive. Superb quality nursing homes start with a superb quality administrator.

1. Recently on Tuesday, a very close cheerleading friend of mine named Alana Lyons committed suicide. She drove her car on the train tracked and sat in her car ready to die. I never want anyone to ever feel like they have no one. I remember my freshman year in the Freshman Living and Learning Center, I had the best Community Assistants ever.
Based on the case study on pages 36-37 of our text and looking at the individual and financial needs of Don and Mary, I feel that they should both live in Assisted Living Facilities. According to our textbook, Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) provides assistance and supervision of activities of daily living for 24-hour. It offers more independence and privacy, a greater choices of services, and more involvement of direct care workers. (McSweeney-Feld & Oetjen, 2012, p. 25). As their care needs change, they can also opt to live in a Continued Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) which according to the book are residential complexes for seniors that offers housing options and comprehensive nursing care with their changing needs.
