I am employed by the United States Air Force and my career field is Personnel. While my job has a wide range of responsibilities I will focus on only one. I have worked in the Retirements and Separations office previously and held that job title for about 6 months. I help member’s complete paperwork to out-process the base they are stationed at and help them transition to civilian life. Things I enjoyed about my job; Learning about Retirements and Separations Briefing member’s Out-processing member’s I used three of my learning patterns during the process of learning retirements/separations, briefing member’s, and out-processing member’s. I used precision and sequence while learning about retirements/separations to make sure I didn’t become overwhelmed with all the information, and to make lists on what information I would brief members on. What I don’t like about them is that they are very to the point and some member’s may have a special circumstance and they may not fall under one of the rules. The reason I don’t like the rules and regulations is because it goes against my sequence and precision learning patterns. I am pretty sure no one likes disgruntled customers and this is where my confluence learning pattern would come into play. I would have to use confluence because I have to think outside of the box and view things from someone else’s point of view to help solve the problem. Out-processing member’s can sometimes be a doubled edged sword. You would sometimes feel the worth of your job as you helped people transition. Then there were other times where the member was lazy and would not have all of their paperwork. I would have to use confluence again to help them accomplish their paperwork to retire/separate on their appointed
