Just start me. Imagine seeing someone in a white cowboy hat, denim button up shirt, and glasses that are bigger than your face whisper it over and over again in a creepy voice. Would that grab your attention? Or would the same person but in an even crazier outfit repeating that phrase but only now he’s singing and dancing, and of course repeating “Just start me”. The Madden NFL 17 advertisment convinces its audience to buy Madden 17 by using ethos, logos, and pathos. This ad starts out with football player, Von Miller, holding up a sign that says “Start me”, and throughout the whole video there are multiple versions of Von Miller in crazy, funny looking, colorful outfits dancing to Justin Bieber’s song “Sorry”. After all, if the crazy dancing wasn’t enough, Von also sings while dancing and in the lyrics, he is trying to convince the audience to buy Madden 17 and keeps repeating “just start me” in a creepy low voice. The best thing is that it uses Von Miller, an American football outside linebacker for the Denver Broncos to grab the audience’s attention by dancing silly in funny looking outfits and singing to “Sorry” by singer-songwriter Justin Bieber. Even if the audience doesn’t love playing video games or is just not a football fan and has no idea who Von Miller is, this ad might still catch your attention with his hilarious dance moves and catchy lyrics. Some of the logos in this advertisement would be Xbox 1, the gaming console you can play Madden ‘17 on. EA Sports which is a brand of Electronic Arts that creates and develops sports video games like FIFA, NBA, UFC, and lots more. Also another logo would of course be Madden 17
