Robert Frost was a famous American author that was born in 1874. He didn’t become in the scene of poetry until WWI. After he started writing poetry he became one of the most famous poets of all time. He was born on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco, California. His father died of tuberculosis when he was young which led to him moving to Lawrence, Massachusetts. Frost attended Lawrence High School, but after high school he went to Dartmouth College. While he attended the college he worked “filler” jobs back at home and he wrote his first poem called “My Butterfly: an Elegy” it published in The Independent, a weekly literary journal based in New York City. Which later led to him getting married to Elinor on December 19, 1895. Frost ended up having 5 kids total. His first kid was Elliot in 1896 but died of cholera in 1900. Their Second kid, Carol, was born in 1902 but committed suicide in 1940. Their third kid, Irma, was born in 1903 who later developed a mental illness. Their fourth kid, Marjorie, was born in 1905 but died in her late 20’s after giving birth. Then their last child, Elinor, was born in 1907 but died weeks after she was born. …show more content…

Frost, at the age of 38, would finally be able to publish his own book of poems. Later on he would go on to meet Ezra Pound and Edward Thomas which would significantly impact his life as an American
