Poetry Research Project: Robert Louis Stevenson Do you ever take the time to ever think about the life of a poet? How do they create such imagination using only words? Robert Louis Stevenson was one of these people. Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Scotland in 1850. He grew up with severe breathing problems. When he first went to college, he was studying for law. He wrote very renowned story books like The Strange case of doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and he also wrote Treasure Island. He was very famous for both books and poems. He would mostly use rhyming in his poems. For example, here is one of Robert Louis Stevenson’s quotes in his poem “My shadow,” “I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me, / And what can be the use of him is more than I can see” This report will help you with understanding the poet more through his poems.
