The Beastie Boys. Need I say more? When most think of the rambunctious rap group from that came straight out of the 1980’s, they think about girls, partying, crude humor and maybe some music in between. Although The Beastie Boys as a group did a few things that had never been done before in music history. Thats pretty incredible considering nobody expected something so revolutionary to come from three middle class white jewish kids from New York.

There they created their first album, Take This to Your Grave. Next, they produced From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity on High, and the flop of Folie a Deux, before they went on hiatus just to come back three years later and create Save Rock and Roll.

The 1990’s was arguably the greatest decade for the music scene. This decade encountered the rise of the best musical artists and bands of all time. The music from this time was highly thought of because most bands were bringing back the rock and roll sound everyone loved from the late 60’s and 70’s. The band that really brought this sound back for generations to come was Nirvana. The band Nirvana wasn 't just considered to be rock and roll, their music could fall under several off branches of rock and that 's what made them the best.
Blink-182 was unique among other bands because the band was interested in writing songs that appealed to their audience and their fans. They never cared to write songs that appealed to adults. The band never really took themselves all that seriously, their lyrics were not very hard to understand and there music could relate to any teeanager. They managed to gain a lot of popularity with their catchy music, and unruly appearance and I think that this is why the band gained so much popularity with youth around the world.
But they weren’t always famous. It took them almost 2 years to get popular! Before they got their big break, they had many temporary members. Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best were both temporary members.

He and Pete were able to recruit other friends to create a five-man group.
These types of band continue to live out the progressive rock style and bring in their own unique influences into the genre. In conclusion, Progressive Rock music was born out of a desire for rock music to become as respected a medium as jazz and classical music. This lead to the formation of unconventional, experimental bands in the 60’s and 70’s, climaxing in the 1980’s before taking a rest in development before the resurgence seen in the 90’s. Some of the most important albums relevant to the genre include Pet Sounds, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt.
