Significant Leaders and Accomplishments:
There were many significant and impactful leaders of the Roman empire, one of the most important being Augustus. He was most often seen as the first ruler of the Roman Empire, though he didn’t go by the title of emperor. The time in which he ruled over Rome was considered a Golden Age where economy, arts and agriculture flourished. Augustus may not have expanded Rome’s territory during his rule, but he was able to help the existing Rome prosperous. Another important leader of the Roman Empire was Constantine the Great. He started the transition of the Roman Empire into becoming a Christian state by being the first emperor to allow and profess Christianity. Trajan was another significant leader, who brought Rome to a new height of development. He expanded the empire into the East and undertook a vast building program. Gaius Marius was another important general. He made Rome’s army into an extremely efficient and well-organized fighting-body.
