Romantic era Music Vs. Heavy Metal with Cognitive Function
I believe a participant who listens to Romantic era Music while preforming a cognitive task such as reading will do it more efficiently then with out the music. Music causes one to recognizance patterns so I believe this is like a “warm up” for your brain. When someone starts to read there mind is already making connections to the material. When your mind is reading or attempting to recognizance certain patterns one transforms or maintains mental images when there is no physical item contributing this is Spatial reasoning(Goodwin & Johnson-Laird, 2005; Johnson, 2008).Those who tend not to reread sentences retain the information quicker then those who read the sentence more then once also when solving a math equation your brain attempts to identify patterns it recognizes. For example, in a recent study random people were exposed to classical music while studying for a test and the other half where left in the silence. The result was those who listen to the music long term scored higher on the test (Aoun, Jones, Shaw, Bondar, 2005). as many of these studies have been done I’m still curious

However, everyone uses there limbic system to interpret. With the many different studies surround the effect music has on the brain we have discovered what each limbic structure deciphers. The amaglda interprets the vocals and each note played. The hippocampus ties memories to the sounds being played which can bring a certain emotion alive( Frühholz, Trost, and Grandjean (2014)). Because of this Music memory connection one can hypotheses if a indivulae is studying to say Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt while studying the heart and its structures can then replay that song at a later date, say before a test in the memory of what the indivulae was studying will come back into there
