Romantic era Music Vs. Heavy Metal with Cognitive Function
I believe a participant who listens to Romantic era Music while preforming a cognitive task such as reading will do it more efficiently then with out the music. Music causes one to recognizance patterns so I believe this is like a “warm up” for your brain. When someone starts to read there mind is already making connections to the material. When your mind is reading or attempting to recognizance certain patterns one transforms or maintains mental images when there is no physical item contributing this is Spatial reasoning(Goodwin & Johnson-Laird, 2005; Johnson, 2008).Those who tend not to reread sentences retain the information quicker then those who read the sentence more then once also when solving a math equation your brain attempts to identify patterns it recognizes. For example, in a recent study random people were exposed to classical music while studying for a test and the other half where left in the silence. However, everyone uses there limbic system to interpret. With the many different studies surround the effect music has on the brain we have discovered what each limbic structure deciphers.
