Communication is not adequately proven in Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is a very intriguing story that has little to no communication. Many people misunderstand the story before they read it. They think of it as a beautiful love story that came to an end because of suicide. If you couldn’t tell already, that is incorrect. There are many aspects that came into play that led to the death of the two star-crossed lovers. In the “Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” the characters do not show a very good example of communication with each other. In Act I, lines 127-138, is an example of how there is very little communication. In Act V, lines 17-23, is another great example of two who do not have very good communication. Friar Lawrence, an apothecary, told Romeo that he would be sending one of his fellow Friar’s to Mantua, where Romeo was banished. Romeo was banished to Mantua because of his killing of Tybalt. Friar Lawrence’s letter was not sent by a friar, but instead he was told by his man. Romeo’s man told him that his lover Juliet was dead, and they did not know how it happened. The letter Romeo was supposed to get was going to say wait until a certain time, then come back to Verona. Of course, he did not get the letter, so he came back to Verona before he was supposed to. Juliet was put in a 48 hour deep sleep and Romeo was only supposed to get back at the moment she was to wake. The overall tragedy of the story could have just been stopped if Romeo had not killed Tybalt, and also by good communication between the two. In Act III, lines 150-158, is another example of bad communication between Juliet and her parents. Juliet never tells her parents that she plans on marrying Romeo. They do not know about this, and they believe that Juliet would love to marry
