This plague was killing millions of people, destroying families, and causing there to be many fights amongst families of wealth. During the final Scene of the play Friar Lawrence caught the plague and he ended up not being able to transfer Romeo a message about the faked death of Juliet.

The next day Romeo is talking to his friend, Mercutio when Romeo says, “Tybalt, old Capulet’s nephew, has sent a letter to Romeo’s father’s house (Act 2 scene page 76)” The letter was a challenge to Romeo from Tybalt for a duel, Romeo tells Mercutio how he doesn’t want to fight.
Before Mercutio’s death in act three Tybalt remarks “Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford No better term than this: thou art a villain.” (Shakespeare.3.1.61-62). As exemplified by this citation Tybalt clearly states his disdain for Romeo and this addition creates an underlying tone of disdain for their relationship as a whole. This has the opposite effect as intended on the two as their relationship grows stronger because of this adversity and this ultimately leads to their deaths to do irrational decisions made in the haste of love. Ultimately the decision that Tybalt makes that directly leads to the death of the lover is as Tybalt asserts “Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries That thou hast done
Even though fate and destiny bear some responsibility for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, the impact love had on their brains is to blame since it possessed them and made them take more risks. When Romeo and Juliet first fell in love with each other, their love possessed them, which influenced them to make the decisions that led to their deaths. For instance, in a TED Talk titled “The Brain in Love,” Helen Fisher explains how romantic love can cause one to lose their “sense of self” and not be able to “stop thinking about another human being” (Doc C). This describes how romantic love can possess one, causing them to make poor decisions they wouldn’t normally make.
Romeo and Juliet’s deaths are caused due to the scientific nature of love, and its ability to change someone as well as being young and reckless. Being in love can cause fully developed adults to forget who they are and what they stand for. As the author of Doc C states, “Romantic love is an obsession, it possesses you. Throughout the fight scene, many servants from both sides are hurt, and the fear of the bystanders causes the Prince to be called. Before when the Prince leaves he declares, “If ever you disturb our streets again, / Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace” (1.1.98-99). The Prince is tired of the dangerous fights and bitterness between the families.
