Juliet was never able to say something positive about Romeo that didn’t regard his looks.Throughout Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet the story of the star crossed lovers is followed showing the short three day story of their love. They met at a masquerade ball, and decided to get married in the next couple hours. They’re love was short lived as tensions arose with Romeo’s banishment, and it ended with both their deaths as they were blinded from reality by love. Love at first sight is not real because Romeo and Juliet’s love was ingenuine and rushed. This shows how true love is real because Juliet almost kills herself at the thought over never seeing Romeo again. It proves a lot for her to take into consideration committing such an action after meeting so soon. By almost going through with this action it shows how much she really cares about Romeo as she would rather be dead than be without anyone else. Realistically, this only shows how they didn’t take the time to get to know each other and acted out of emotion from the heat of the moment. “Young men’s love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes” (2.3.68-69). Here Friar Lawrence is explaining to Romeo that his love and attraction for women only depends on their looks after he was able to move on from Rosaline to Juliet in a matter of hours.
