Romeo's adolescent brain has inspired numerous decisions like his addiction to Juliet and his unethical behavior that could be due to his undeveloped brain. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo's reckless decisions are influenced by his adolescent crush on Juliet, his impulsive decisions towards Juliet, and the level of dopamine he maintains. All factors added up are the cause of his death. Romeo's adolescent brain instigated his decisions towards his crush juliet. Romeo will do anything to catch the eye of Juliet. After the ball Romeo went to the orchard and he expressed, ¨With love's light wings did I prepare these walls for stony walls cannot keep love out,¨(Shakespeare 2.2 70-71). This quote shows that Romeo will climb a mountain high wall and put his life in danger just to impress his crush. In the adolescent brain article it indicates, ¨The person with the crush gives enormous power of approval to the object of their crush- wanting to be liked by them,willing to do a lot to get in the other person´s good graces.¨ ( pickhardt) Both of these quotes indicate that Romeo was infatuated with Juliet and was willing to do anything to make those feelings mutual.
