People take responsibility for the things that they have done and the reasons for taking responsibilities are varied, but sometimes they are critical. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is written by William Shakespeare, and one of the characters is most responsible for the deaths of star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. Benvolio, the nephew of Montague, should take the responsibility for the unfortunate couple’s death, although he is the most veritable person throughout the play. In the beginning of the play, Romeo is deeply in love with Rosaline, the niece of Capulet, but Benvolio assumes that his love for her is infatuation because she does not cherish him back albeit Romeo wants to get recognition from her by showing his feeling and expressing his dismay. “ …show more content…

“ Benvolio - “At this same ancient feast of Capulet’s sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so loves, with all the admired beauties of Verona. Go thither, and with unattainted eye compare her face with some that I shall show, and I will make thee think thy swan a crow.” “ (Shakespeare 683), Benvolio urges Romeo that Rosaline is not the only exquisite woman in the world. “ Benvolio - “But in that crystal scales let there be weighed your lady’s love against some other maid that I will show you shining at this feast, and she shall scant show well that now seems best.” “ (Shakespeare 683), Benvolio thinks that Romeo should look for other beauties, not just Rosaline because she ignores his love. Romeo’s cousin, Benvolio, need to take the authority for the couple’s endings because he is the cause who made Romeo to go to the festivity to find different lady and that person became Juliet, which leads to a new love. Conceding that Benvolio didn’t ask Romeo to attend the repast, Romeo wouldn’t have meet Juliet and he wouldn’t have fall in love with
