Who is to blame? William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet ends with the death of the two lovers because of the miscommunication caused primarily by 3 characters from the play that I believe to be the biggest cause for the events that took place Tybalt, the nurse, and the friar. In the story of Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt is primarily to blame for the conflict that takes place, which ultimately causes the deaths of the two lovers. The nurse is to blame for her support for Juliet's actions, and The friar is responsible for supporting their actions, marrying them, and giving Juliet the potion that made her appear dead. The friar who feels responsible for her soul creates the plan that she will take the sleep potion and appear dead until she awakens when she will be reunited with Romeo. But this plan is what caused the miscommunication and Romeo thinking she was dead because when he found her in the chamber she was still under the effects, so he takes poison to end his life. The friar also is to blame for the majority of what happened as he was the main supporter and guidance towards Juliet's decision and was the person who married Romeo and Juliet in secret. The secret marriage is what created so much conflict around Paris and if the friar had waited for their marriage, the conflict would not have taken place. Tybalts' actions towards Romeo that lead up to their fight are directly what causes his banishment, leading to the friar's plan. If Tybalt had made different decisions and had been more peaceful with Romeo, their fight would never have happened. The Frair's plan played a
