The Nurse and Friar Lawrence should be blamed for Romeo and Juliet’s death because they were the ones who encouraged, promoted, and influenced Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. The Montagues and Capulets are not to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death because they had not known about their relationship and only had good intentions. The friar had agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet even though he knew that his couple had barely met. As Romeo tries to convince friar to wed them, Friar says, “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; for this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households rancor to pure love.” (II.iii 90-93). Although the friar had thought that marrying Romeo and Juliet would create a peace between these two enemy households, the friar should’ve been wiser about his decision and recognize the cons of this marriage. If friar hadn’t agreed to assist this marriage, Juliet marrying Paris wouldn’t have been that big of a deal meaning that Juliet would have never had to fake her death. The Nurse and Lady Capulet with for Juliet wish for Juliet to get married so the Nurse says, “Go, girl, seek happy nights to happy days.”(I.iii 105). Due to the nurse pushing Juliet so much to get married, Juliet immediately fell for Romeo and was a very easy catch. Thanks to the nurse’s desire for Juliet t get married, Juliet fell in love even though she was not interested in marriage and to please the nurse, she got married.
