Hey, it’s Hudson Manning and you are listening to. and today I will be talking about who’s to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death. . If you don’t know, Romeo and Juliet is the most famous play ever written by William Shakespeare where basically there are two big families, the Montagues and the Capulets who are enemies, now Romeo who is a part of the Montague gets his heart broken from a girl and ends up sneaking into a Capulets party to get over her. Juliet, who was then very upset, decides to fake her own death to trick her family and avoid marriage to another man called Paris. Doing so, Romeo believes she is dead because he wasn’t told about the plan, so he buys poison to go drink at her tomb. Before Romeo could get there, he ran into Paris and decided to kill him as well. He then lay next to Juliet and drank the poison and when Juliet woke, she saw her husband dead, she decided to stab herself as a relief. Yes, that is a lot of 24,294 words in the play but me the amazing person I am, summarized it to 241 words. As for who to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death I think it was mainly friar Lawrence’s fault for three main reasons one he agreed to marry them young with little to no resistance, two he kept the marriage and Juliet’s fake passing secret from everyone including the families and most of all he failed to deliver the message to Romeo that would of told him that Juliet’s death was fake. They stumble that run fast.” Basically, telling them to slow down, but that went in one ear and out the other for Romeo. In the friar’s defense, he did think that marrying them would help stop their parents’ feud, even though they told no one about the marriage. But in the play, he didn’t tell anyone so I’m not sure how he was thinking it would help and that leads me to my second reason why its friar Lawrences fault which is that he kept everything secretive from both families and he was open to lying to the families about Juliet’s death. Although he didn’t directly lie to the parents, he didn’t tell anyone about them getting married or that Juliets passing was fake until after Juliet stabbed herself. Within the scene where Romeo and Juliet get married, he doesn’t care to ask where the parents are or why there was only the nurse attending the
