What would you do if you were in love with somebody you had to hide from your people? This was Romeo and Juliet's harsh truth. They were in love with each other. However, they had to hide from each other. Friar Lawrence and Romeo and Juliet's parents were at fault for the tragedy since the friar gaslit Romeo and Juliet into believing that their plan was possible, the parents caused them to fall into desperation and act without thinking, and the friar made bad plan-making. These people were the ones to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death. The first reason for Romeo and Juliet's tragedy was that Friar Lawrence gaslit them into thinking their relationship was possible. Friar Lawrence manipulated them by making them think that they could save their relationship. “I can see a sort of hope (4,1,195)” Friar said to Juliet. Juliet being so stressed, sad, and worried, was in a vulnerable position, so any possible solution made her think it was possible to get back with Romeo. “Take thou this vial, being then in bed, and this distilling liquor drink thou off (4,1,196)”. When Juliet's dad offered Paris his daughter to marry, it made Romeo and Juliet stressed out, since Juliet didn't want to be with Paris. “Sir Paris, I will make a desperate attempt at my child’s love.
