Every decision that is made is either good or bad, it will follow you forever and affect anyone in one way or another. Romeo and Juliet is a very famous tragedy story, regret and love that has longly entertained readers. The play is about two young teenagers who live in Verona, who fell in love with each other despite both of their families feuds. In this article, it will examine the tragic play of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare and events in the play that were Romeo’s own fault due to his own decisions. Romeo’s decision to sneak into the Capulet masquerade ball to see his love Rosaline, ended in him falling in love with Juliet which led to both of them dying. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo a Montague was with his friend Benvolio, when one of the Capulet servants was sent to tell all the individuals invited to the Capulet masquerade ball. The servant asked Romeo for help reading the names on the invitation, as Romeo was reading through the list, he saw Rosaline's name on the list. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo got news from Balthasar that Juliet was dead and was laying in the Capulet tomb. Romeo tells Balthasar that he is going to get the ring he gave to Juliet, but in reality he is going so he can die next to Juliet. When Romeo gets to the tomb he pulls out his tools and tries to break the tomb with a crowbar. As Romeo is in the act of breaking the door open of the tomb, Paris sees Romeo and confronts him. As Paris confronts Romeo they get into an argument about how Romeo must hate the Capulets so much that he has returned to the tomb to do some dishonor to the corpse of either Tybalt or Juliet. Throughout the argument Romeo provokes a fight with Paris, “Are you going to provoke me? Alright, let’s fight, boy!” (Romeo & Juliet 5.3 78-79).
