During the time of unfairness many people stepped up to defend their rights . Rosa Parks showed her bravery by being a secretary for the NAAP , refusing to give up her seat on a bus , and starting the Civil Rights Movement .
One reason Rosa Parks was brave is because she was a secretary for the National
Association for Advancement of Colored People ( NAAP) . The NAAP was founded on February 12,1909.” The NAAP is America’s oldest, largest ,and most famous civil rights group” . Their main goal is to end racial and hatred towards colored people , and help people who have been denied their civil rights. Rosa Parks worked for the NAAP in Montgomery, Alabama for twelve years. She she sat on the first section of the colored section . The bus started to get very crowded . A caucasian man came up to her and told her to get up , because there wasn't anymore seats for him and the white section . Rosa kind refused by saying “ no” . Then the bus driver named Jim Blake came up to her and told her to get up or she will go to jail she still refused so she went to jail. Later on that night Rosa was bailed out her boss Mr. Nixon. Rosa Parks trail was on December 5 ,1955 Rosa was found guilty for violating segregation laws. The boycott started the day of Rosa’s trail. 35,000 flyer were sent by mid-night to the black community of Montgomery .” Never before had the black community of Montgomery united in protest “. This movement affected bus companies very badly. Bus companies realized that their business depended a lot on black riders .” The boycott was a huge success it lasted 381 days” . Finally, everyone’s hard work paid off . On November 13,1956 the United States Supreme Court , the highest court said that bus segregation was unconstitutional” . In December of 1956 , the black community of Montgomery was ready to get back on the buses , but this time they didn't have to ride in the back of the buses. Rosa Parks got on the Cleveland Avenue bus the same bus that t she got arrested on . Jim Blake the same bus driver who got her arrested was at the wheel. Rosa ignored him ,and walked to one of the first seats on the bus . A reporter snapped a photo of her . That photograph is the most famous picture ever taken of her . These movements helped her to be more braver than before
