1. What was the legal issue in this case? What did the NLRB decide? This case is based on 26 former employees of MasTec Advanced Technologies, Inc. (MasTec), who sued the company alleging that their employment were terminated after an appearance on a TV news show, complaining about unfair new pay formula and the instructions to lie to the customers in order to meet with the telephone lines installations rates. As is mentioned in the textbook in the MasTec Advanced Technologies' case, the new pay formula indicate that the technicians would be paid $2 less for basic and additional outlet installations, but would earn $3.35 for each receiver they connected to phone line.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys spent most of last Thursday morning in chambers with the judge regarding motions in the Mark Miller case. In some brief remarks in open court following the meeting, it appeared the case of the well-known Jasper attorney accused of taking as much as $2 million from clients will be heading to trial within the month unless a plea deal is reached. Senior Judge Richard Winegarden, who has handled all hearings in this case since Miller was arrested in June, granted a request by the prosecution to delay the trial from its original March 6 opening but made it plain he intends for it to start some time in March. Winegarden was assigned the case after all local judges recused themselves.
Thank you for the quick response. I spoke to John Burns about COMP 1125 and COMP 1200 during Fall '14 semester and he was going to take care of waiving those courses. COMP 1200 is a prerequisite for COMP 1360. Furthermore, I have already taken a spreadsheet and a database class at another institution, which is why professor Burns was going to make such changes.
Thank you Steward for your input and question. Multidisciplinary rounds offer a chance for the various care providers to bring in their input in patient care decisions be it during actual rounds or in post-care evaluation meetings such as after a resuscitation or death of a patient and I am glad the round are done in my unit. The team is able to gather input from the participants, discuss the various action plan and finally adopts the best plan. The rounds also create a learning opportunity and affirmation or review of practice. I used the word bottleneck to mean challenges or obstacles encountered.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS After all the time and effort, we have figured out that Chegg needs to put themselves out there if they really want to grab potential customers. Chegg needs to become better at advertising and targeting more college students because there are many college students who do not know that Chegg even exists. We also found out that Chegg needs to receive better reviews and advertise more. When it comes to how Chegg does business, we hope that Chegg will consider altering their ways to reach their goal in attracting customers.
Verizon agreed that they would cut some requirements from the workers’ mandatory overtime. The new rules stated that workers had to work 7.5 hours of overtime per week. The maximum hours of overtime they could work was 10 hours. They also will pay bilingual workers, that have to do jobs that require them being fluent in another language more than the average worker.
While Mrs. Moran is considering the socioeconomic status of Tyrel’s family, she should also be considering how gender, language differences, and family dynamics affect Tyrel. M. Baruth and L. Manning suggests that African American males tend to need an alternative education to address individual needs (2013). Taking time to know the individual student and his needs should be a major priority. Language differences may also create a barrier in Tyrel’s education. If parents are non-readers or undereducated, then the meaning of many words he may hear in a learning environment will differ dramatically from the words he is exposed to at home.
1. Dodd Frank law & the implication on Hedge funds After 2011, Dodd-Frank raised the lower bound for hedge funds advisors to register with the SEC to $100 million and also put in place a new category of advisors, called mid-sized advisors. They should have regulatory assets under management between $25 million and $100 million. On the other hand, an advisor to a mid-sized hedge fund does not have to register with the SEC if he is registered with the state where his major office is based. However, an advisor to a mid-sized hedge fund is required to register with the SEC if his home state has inadequate regulation and he does not have the private fund advisor exemption.
Conclusions From analyzing RadioShack's brand struggle, a few important managerial lessons should be addressed: The importance of brand equity measurement, balancing new and old customer segments, and brand strategy alignment. Brand Equity Measurement: The main problem regarding RadioShack's 2014 new branding strategies (e.g. Fix it Stations, RadioShack Labs, focusing on its original brand identity) was not solely brand implementation. Essentially, RadioShack's marketing managers and top management failed to recognize problems with brand equity early on. The process of "Building-Implementing-Measuring" had not occurred, because the company rushed to implement new strategies without determining the brand equity, carrying the implicit assumption

Analysis Culture The overall, desired culture of Flatrock is bottom-line oriented and places emphasis on cost reduction and improved production levels. To ensure this emphasis is maintained, bonuses are tied to employee’s ability to produce more while lowering costs. Consequently, Flatrock’s misconception that Tower’s margins are 30%, when in actuality they are 16%, can be attributed to this bottom-line oriented culture as it promotes cost containing behaviours.
The pumps that the Wilkerson company produces are the “bread and butter” of this company. These products are produced at a high rate with a high price competition. As stated earlier, due to the severe price cutting by the competitors, the pre- tax margin of the company dropped extremely low to 3% percent and gross margin to 19.5%. Another product that the company produces are valves. The valves have remained steady around its planned gross margin of 35% with actual of 34.9%; these products are sold and shipped in huge bulk.

The Scanlon plan can be resolved by advocating changes within the plan that employees are readily to embark for change.
