In the book “I Had Lived A Thousand Years” by Livia Bitton-Jackson talks about Jews being tortured by the Germans. The Germans hate the Jews because they blame the Jews for losing World War 1. Ellie and her family were sent to concentration camps where they face their nightmares and are separated by the Germans. They were suffering, but were afraid to run away.
Overall, the book is a great read, even for those who do not enjoy
I would highly suggest reading this book since it will make you realize that society isn’t always good. It will make you truly think of how Society was in that time period. It really influences you and let’s you know higher and better vocabulary. This book is confusing to read but overall it’s a good book. If you really like high-level reading then you should go for this book definitely.
The book "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park explores the life of Salva, an 11-year-old boy living in South Sudan, after he is displaced by the Sudanese Civil War. First, in 1985, Salva and his classmates are instructed to run into the bush to escape the gunfire that was heard not far from the school. Then, he joins a group of travelers who are walking away from the war in Sudan, but they abandon him in a barn one evening while he is still asleep. After spending a few days with the barn's owner, Salva is sent away with a different group of travelers, must of whom accept him grudgingly. The group walks for a month toward Ethiopia, and eventually they arrive to the Itang refugee camp in Ethiopia.
In the historical fiction book, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. The character statement, though Salva has gone through so much, he persists, is proven in many ways throughout the story. Two pieces of evidence to prove the statement, are shown towards the beginning and end of the story. The claim is generally expressed shortly after the main character, Salva’s, uncle gets shot by the Rebel soldiers. Though Salva was feeling down at times, he always remembers his uncle's words, “You need to walk only as far as those bushes.”

Yet, he still finds a way to make headway and persevere. When grieving with the loss of his uncle, and leading a group of young men out of a refugee camp, Salva persevered. One way Salvator persevered, is when grieving with the loss of his uncle.

In the book “A long walk to water” by: Linda Sue Park, is a book that takes place in Southern Sudan and features all the hardships Salva and Nya had to face while living there such as wild animals, wars, fights through tribes, lack of water and food. Hardships Salva faced in Southern Sudan are lack of water/ food, the wild animals, and the fighting/ war. One of the hardships Salva had to face in Southern Sudan is lack of water and food. In chapters 3-4 Salva had gotten water from a woman older than Salva’s mother that he had met after he was left alone, the woman gave Salva a gourd of water and a bag of raw peanuts.
Imagine you’re Salva, attending school and suddenly hearing a gunshot. The story “A Long Walk to Water” by Linda Sue Park, tells about the journey of a young boy named Salva, living in a village called Loun-Ariik, located in Southern Sudan. Southern Sudan was in the middle of a war, this is one of the hardships Salva faced, along with lack of water, and lack of food. One day while Salva was in school, he heard a gunshot. He runs to a near bush, and this is what begins his long walk.
In south sudan a civil war broke out that shut down refugee camps killed thousands and one of them killed by being tied to a tree and shot. The main character in the long walk to water by Linda Sue Park is a young boy named salva. Salva is a young boy that gets separated from his family and is picked at random to go start a life in the U.S. in his journey for safety he crosses through lion country, fast rivers, and the Akobo desert all with only the support of his uncle. Salva manages to overcome many dangerous animals, dangerous territories, and the lose of many loved ones through his journey to safety.
I did enjoy this book, even if I did lose interest and went on my phone randomly while reading the middle of a paragraph. This book taught me a lot that I didn’t know, like the fire that ruined thousands of buildings in Chicago in 1871. It just generally told me information straight up without wording stuff around it, which is what I like best when reading. I more than likely not recommend this book to one of my friends, just because I could not see them enjoying this book and all the information it gives you. I would however, recommend this book to an older adult, because I feel like they would enjoy and appreciate this book a lot more than any of my friends
"Running for His Life" In the story "Running for His Life", Michael Hall explains the genocide Gilbert Tuhabonye experienced when he was in high school in East Africa and how he managed to escape and relive his life in Austin, Texas. Tuhabonye's teachers and the Tutsi teenagers were burned alive and beaten to death by friends of theirs. A couple of students tried eluding, but we're caught and killed by the killers. The building was on fire, burning corpses, and burning to death any students who remained alive.
Although I did get confused while reading the book a few times, I think most individuals would enjoy it. I read this book all in one day, as it was a type of book that is super hard to stop reading after you start it. I wouldn’t recommend starting this book, if the reader doesn’t have time to read a majority of the book in one sitting. I believe a busy person would get too confused and lost in the book, since they wouldn’t have time to sit down and read the whole book. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone under the age of fourteen, as it can be very sad at times.

Individuals tend to believe to know what is expected without first experiencing expectation, always believing that life events are clear and concise. This is a challenge when maturing in life, and learning what you must do to excel. In the short story “The Story of an Hour”, By Kate Choplin was about a main character named Louise Mallard, who had a tremendous change in her life. The open window and the independence Louise Mallard is experiencing is a forbidden pleasure that represents her way of new life and opportunity. The life of Louise Mallard was always been in control by his husband and she never gets any freedom until the news she receive about the death of his husband Brentley Mallard. Mrs. Mallard reaction to the death of her husband was “She wept at once,” this describe how she felt when they told her about his husband was “killed” (Para 2, Line 6), she felt as she was hopeless and not herself anymore and that she will always be the wife material of Brentley Mallard.
It is a well thought out book that runs smoothly through its deluxe plot. In a good way, it seems to always have a plot twist right after the next. Even the ending keeps you into the book. The book leads off with a teenage boy stuck in an elevator.
