Carl Vinson and Richard Russell, both Georgians, have contributed very much to America’s military around War World II. They were big influences although they started as politicians. These two men made large impacts to 2 of the 3 branches of the military in very diverse ways. In those times, they impacted US history very much. Carl Vinson, “the father of the two ocean navy”, was a man that previously held the record for most years served in U.S Congress.

Meriwether Lewis was one of the leaders of the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was the governor of the Louisiana Territory. Lewis was one of Thomas Jefferson’s most trusted friends to get his money from the government and to deliver something to Thomas Jefferson. During the journey ,Jefferson stopped at Robert Grinder’s inn to rest while James Neely apparently went to look for the missing horses. There, Meriwether Lewis was murdered by a conspiracy.

They met French trappers, they also met a French trapper whose wife named Sacagawea, was of the Shoshone tribe. She was great with speaking to different tribes. There are many similarities and differences between Walyer "Furry" Lewis, Frank Stokes, Bessie Smith, Gus Cannon, and Jim Jackson. All five individuals performed in Memphis at some point during the early 1900s. Lewis, Stokes, Cannon, and Jackson each played guitar, but Smith was exclusively a singer. Along with the guitar Cannon also played the banjo, trombone, and piano. Last night, hotels in the Dominican was flooded, trees were uprooted, the beach was destroyed all due to the tropic storm that struck late Monday night. Extreme water and wind damage destroyed the beach and resorts.
Chances are, you have heard of Meriwether Lewis whether you know who he is or not. Meriwether Lewis is mostly known for traveling out west with William Clark, Sacagawea, and York. This expedition helped him to become closer with the president, Thomas Jefferson, and become his assistant and friend. This relationship eventually led to him becoming the governor of the Louisiana Territory and may have also led to his death. On the night of his death, Lewis was traveling back to D.C. to take care of some debts when he stopped at Grinder’s Stand to rest.
