To where have all the black-footed ferrets disappeared? The black-footed ferrets have been endangered since 1967 in the southwestern corner of North Dakota due to loss of habitat and a depletion of their prime food source. First of all, the prairie dogs and the other animals that lived in their homes were the ferrets prime source of food. Secondly, the ferrets, like many other animals, used the prairie dogs’ burrows as homes.
Bald eagles are known as the symbol of America, but they are also a symbol of adventure. In Yellowstone there are currently eighteen active nest. Heritage pig/pork breeds were naturally handy and thrifty animals raised for their bacon, meat, and lard. The pigs lived off the land, grains, grass, whey from the chum. In America, all heritage pork comes from pure and cross-bred livestock. The Berkshire is a first class black pig with lean meat.
Desert bighorn sheep are the parks largest and most magnificent animals. They are always on the move, and very mobile (so they can go form water source to water source.) This is surprising as they have to carry up to 30 pounds of curling horns. Their agility is a critical factor for surviving in death valley. Along with the fact that they have a high ability to travel to water and high mountain slopes.
The name Redskins is seen as a derogatory and racial term traced back to the 18th century. It is found to be demeaning and offensive towards the Native Americans due to the history of the word. Some sources state that the term is in reference to when the Native Americans would paint their faces red, but others proclaim it's related to the scalping incidents. During the mid-19th century, authorities offered bounties for the scalps of Indians and referred to them as redskins. This issue has resurfaced once again as a dispute between the Washington Redskins and the Native Americans over the name of this certain National Football League team.
In both the article “Permit to Hunt..” and the John Stossel video on Endangered Species both made one point very clear -- in order to save endangered species we have to kill them. The article and the video take this in two very different directions but they are both similar thematically. In the article, the writer talks about the sale of a permit that allows for the buyer to kill one post-breeding black rhino. The $350,000 raised would go on to fund the Namibian Government and their anti-poaching battle.

There was silence, then… BOOM! My father and I finally shot the antelope that cost us day's of determination and perseverance. It took four days of sneaking through bushes, trees and rocks jutting into our skin, hiking around for hours trying to find herds of antelope, and consistently calling, with the intentions to find something, yet failing around every turn. This brutal hunt wasn’t for nothing though, in fact, let me introduce the story that changed my life forever. Welcome to the great antelope hunt.
Oklahoma is home to many Native American tribes that once flourished throughout the country and still have an important presence and history in our state. Of the many tribes and languages spoken by Native American’s in Oklahoma, the topic of this paper will be upon the Osage nation and its language, more formally known as Wazhazhe. Many species of animals and even plants are going extinct due to habitat loss and poaching. The Endangered Species Act was created to help those species, but people often say it is misused, and others believe that it can actually help endangered species gain back population. While the Endangered Species Act has been misused in a lot of ways, it should be maintained because species are becoming endangered for many reasons, such as hunting and poaching, and it was created to help people understand the extinction issue and set rules to help protect the endangered
