For instance, a glimpse into the American workforce provides us with a group of individuals who are diverse in different ways. The American workforce system is composed of older employees, more women, African Americans, single parents, gay, people with specific dietary preference, people with disabilities and foreign born workers. The American constitution has entrenched a system where employers should observe a fair and transparent employment system. Many employees worked for many years and retired at the normal age of approximately 65. The pattern, however, keeps on changing due to improved health system, demographic factors and the abolition of compulsory retirement. The manufacturing organization complies with all the requirements of the government. The manufacturing company employment strategy puts much focus into the employee welfare. The retirement age for all employees is 72. Any employee can however retire before the above age at their own volition. The strategy ensures that employees feel the need for job security. In addition, the organization is capable of benefiting from a wealth of experience from its employees. The strategic implication is that new employees can learn and gain experience from outgoing employees over a long duration of time. As a Human resource compensation representative, it was crucial to gather information on return on investment (ROI) through various recruitment sources such as internet advertising, print advertising, career affairs, workshops, internal transfers and college recruitment. Such information would prove vital in determining and evaluating how HR activities contribute to ROI. It was evident that in large organizations, employers use cost metrics as the time to fill in vacancies as a way of tracking individuals productivity.
