In today’s time, Americans all over the world have random reasons to be scared. Whether these reasons be because of scary movies, being scared, haunted housing, or even same-sex couples. Throughout time, one of the biggest controversial topics has been about same-sex marriage. Americans all over the world talk about how it is completely wrong, how it goes against what God says, and how it goes against the Bible. These Americans are the ones who have been going along with same-sex marriage since it first passed in Massachusetts. Massachusetts was not the first place to allow same-sex couples their licenses, but it was the first state in America to allow same-sex couples to receive marriage licenses in 2003. Author Aeon Skoble talks about what a marriage should be, and how a family should work. The author says that today’s modern family should be between a man and a woman because of divorce reasons. When a man and a woman get a divorce, the mother and the father both have custody still. When a same-sex couple gets a divorce, only one of the parents gets to keep the custody of the child because there is only one legal parent. The donor, or the carrier, is the one who gets the full custody. The author references someone else to get there opinion and the author said that the topic of same-sex marriage has two sides, a left and a right. The Horwitz said that the left side as people who see marriage as an oppressive situation that gay couples should not want to join. Horwitz says that the right side are the ones who look at same-sex marriage as a virtue rather than a vice. A virtue means something when people have high standards for something. The researcher agrees with the right side of Horwitz idea. There should be some kind of virtue that drives to lets the same-sex couples to be recognized as married.
