The article, “Teens Against Hitler”, by Lauren Tarshis, describes Ben Kamm, a Jewish boy, and his fight against war and the prejudice Nazis had for the Jewish people. The article describes, “One of the darkest and most evil chapters in history- the Holocaust.” Ben Kamm and his family lived in Warsaw, Poland in the 1920’s. “Germany had been struggling since 1918 when it was defeated in WW1.” Adolf Hitler was planning on annihilating all the Jews in Europe.
We had to really hone in on the reason we were doing this project. The purpose and delivery was so important in this journey and even when we knew where we wanted to go with the project we had to make sure the video accurately captured our focus. My group and I had various themes throughout our papers and at first I thought it would be impossible to find a way to find a connection between them. Eventually we found something that might seem simple or but allowed us to incorporate a lot of our work into one single video.
The way in which Australian comedy is regarded, understood, or interpreted can dramatically affect the overall consensus of what it may imply. Australian comedy walks the line of this, you either love it, or you hate it. This is evident in the public’s overall positive responses to Chris Lilley’s mini mockumentary series, “Summer Heights High” & “Jonah from Tonga” which portrays Australian comedy as to have the ability to find humour in each other’s flaws, often more shocking and confronting than initially expected. Resulting in a fan base that can relate themselves to characters such as “Jonah Takaluwa” and possibly find comfort and closure, Chris Lilly stated in an interview with The Daily Telegraph “I’ve never had any negative feedback”,” I have all the time come up and claim that they’re Jonah”, “It’s all in context and it’s designed to be shocking and confronting/”
Throughout the history, different medias-(Movies, tv shows, novels, songs) tackle the topic of teenage society. Jerad Hess, the director of the film Napoleon Dynamite, used many satirical device such as Exaggeration, Parody, irony, to interpret the life of a teenager in Idaho . The representation of teenage society in Napoleon Dynamite express the ups and downs of teenage life and mock/ exaggerate the life of teenegers and other contemperoty problems and situations. The director's main objective is to exaggerate and to reveal the covel changes of the country through a point of view of a teenager and the impact of those changes in their life. The immigration of Latin Americans to America and from urban areas to more rural areas are portrayed through the character Pedro and his interactions with protagonist-Napoleon Dynamite and other characters.
Use of satire in SH5 There are many examples of satire and social criticism in Slaughterhouse 5. Vonnegut wrote this book about war with Billy Pilgrim in the main role, telling Billy’s and friends of his experiences from the war. Vonnegut does his best to make war seem unglamorousm, also making commentary on revenge, death and religion. By the frequent usage of black hummor and irony Vonnegut describes the horrors of war meanwhile still presenting it in “funny” way. As a result reader is simultaneously laughing at some of the absurd situations it generates.
