Obesity is an issue that affects many people worldwide. In the article “Why Shame Won’t Stop Obesity”, by Dhruv Khullar, Khullar tries to argue that obesity is a major problem in the United States and the way the country is handling this issue is incorrect. Khullar goes to medical school and experiences first hand the problems people with obesity have to deal with. He believes that some people have no option when it comes to what they choose to eat and that food industries are influencing people in the wrong way. He makes a strong and clear argument by identifying issues, providing evidence, solutions, and counter arguments.
The problem at hand is that even with the opportunities to be educated and change their lifestyle, eating habits are ingrained into these communities. The Weight of Obesity frames this theory successfully by taking readers through the steps of the obesity epidemic, and using her experience to assist in understanding
In the article, What You Eat Is Your Business by Radley Balko, published by Cato Institute, Balko discusses obesity. He discussed how obesity was a public health issue instead of being a personal health. Although the author discusses obesity in terms of public health, he argues that the resolution for obesity should be a personal responsibility. The author draws the reader’s attention when he talked about the government anti-obesity initiatives, by prohibiting junk food from vending machines, federal funding for new bike trails and sidewalks, restrictive food marketing to children, and prodding the food industry into more responsible behavior.
In a world where there is a new diet or weight loss regime around every corner, it has become difficult to navigate through the claims as to what’s healthy and what’s not. Walking into a grocery store today, one wouldn’t have to look far to find items labelled “low fat”, “no sugar added”, “reduced calories”, and the same goes for menu items found at many popular fast food restaurants. Is this what we should be eating in order to overcome this obesity epidemic that we live in today? David Freedman seems to think so. In his article “How Junk Food Can End Obesity”, he claims that using modern food processing to make unhealthy foods more nutritious is the answer, however he fails to recognize that people need to know how to make their own healthy

Since the introduction of food additives and unhealthiness, North Americans have experienced an increasing rate in medical problems such as obesity, heart attacks, diabetes and cancer at an alarming rate and it needs to stop, start supporting your local supermarkets where much more is fresh and farmers markets are a great alternative as well. There is a lot different kind of styles and race of foods that are really delicious. In America, a lot of families have problems with their budget, and can’t afford some healthy food in a grocery store.
On the whole, through the analysis of two different perspectives around the issue of obesity, it has been discovered that one opinion distinctly believes that obesity is at a crisis point in New Zealand and practical steps need to be taken in order to address and prevent it. However, opposing this, was the opinion that it wasn't obesity that is this issue, it is actually idealized consumerism, marketing, advertising and food suppliers, that has caused today's society to be a trap for people who are not educated on how to manage their weight. Based on this evidence, I believe that both opinions are true. Obesity is an issue and needs to be addressed, however, through positive health promotion, not excluding and embarrassing. This is fundamentally due to fast and processed food exposure, marketing tactics to promote these unhealthy substances, and enhancement chemicals intended to aid in processed food freshness and taste. The class of overweight humans can be attributed to environmental exposures and dietary habits influenced by childhood as well. For instance, if a child has grown up in a home that provides ill nourishment through chemically enhanced foods rather than whole nutrient-enriched foods, the chances of them becoming obese increase exponentially.
What is obesity? It the condition of being grossly fat and overweight, but in America it can also be known as 35.7 percent of the U.S population. While the reality is that we require protein and fat to replace our bodies every day wear, individuals still need a balanced diet and some form of physical exercise to get the heart rate going. Obesity has become the number one epidemic, nationwide and that is due to the lack of exercise and unhealthy diets.
Obesity has become a major issue in the United States today. The number of people who are overweight has increased dramatically. A study done by the Centers of Disease Control showed that since 1980, one third of our adult population has become overweight. America is known as the richest nation but also we’ve become the fattest nation as well (Rutten). There was a time when Americans went crazy over being fit and healthy they dieting, jumping onto the treadmills, and buying prepackaged non-fat foods.

But in order to change the social norms regarding nutrition and physical activity, we will also need to make environmental changes to support healthy choices, as tobacco showed. Horton went on to explain, many proposals to address obesity make common sense.
Did you know that we have approximately 97 million people in America that are considered to be overweight or obese? Obesity is a condition of excess body fat which causes a high rate of individuals to suffer in our society. Obesity has been affecting younger children as well as older adults. When the individual’s body fat increases and continues to get worse the individual has a higher risk of developing diseases that are long-term such as heart failure, hypertension, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, and much more. In todays society it is considered relevant because more people are becoming over weight and experiencing many different types of health problems that are causing a fortune.

Obesity Proposal Obesity is a major problem in the United States. With the rates on obesity constantly rising we have to come up with a way to solve the problem somehow. Fortunately, there are some way that we can help and that includes helping the youth understand obesity, encouraging restaurants to improve their menus and nutrition facts and opening space for citizens so they can become fit and active. As a hole there should be more restaurants that promote healthy food choices.
