We are all unaware of the battle that each individual is fighting, but we must all understand before we judge. Whether the problem is large or small, we should never compare, for they are real to each and every one of us. It is through these experiences that we discover our special qualities. Going through a long-lasting ordeal most my high school life allowed me to discover many qualities I had, but the one that I find indispensable and transcends above all is the quality of empathy.

A social life in school was something I never had. I considered myself as being with one friend who I firmly believed would be my greatest supporter in life. Unfortunately, it was counter-intuitive as I was the subject of all forms of bullying by this person at the start of my freshmen year up until the end of my junior year, and it has hindered my ability to grow academically, socially, and mentally. I had no one to support me at the time, not even my family, as they were unable to comprehend my situation. I was adamant in not letting one person define who I was going to be. I managed to stay positive even at my darkest times and I took this ordeal as a learning experience to help me become a much stronger individual, allowing me to gain a level of confidence in myself that I never expected. It taught me how to open up to others for closure and support, realizing that I do have people who are there for me when I need them the most. Therefore, I was finally able to stand up for myself and make a change to end my own suffrage. In retrospect, this experience meant more than just helping me step out of my comfort zone, in fact, it turned me into a person of brave emotion, faith and conviction in understanding other’s feelings, thoughts and experiences almost
