Honors Science is by far the most exacting class I have had this year. Honors Science is challenging because of how time-consuming the homework is. Students receive at least thirty minutes to an hour of homework every other day from this class. For example, last Tuesday students were to finish a buoyancy lab at home. In this lab, we were testing the density of an egg in fresh water compared to sugar water. This was difficult considering group mates are not present for discussion. Also, the teacher is not available for guidance, therefore students may not be able to understand the rest of the lab questions. We had to finish answering questions about the different stages of the egg in the different water densities which was challenging because …show more content…
Science Friday is a project where students are to choose a science related article every week, preferably on what they’re interested in. Students must read and understand it since they are required to discuss it in class. For discussions, they are to prepare a short summary, and two beneficial questions that will help spark discussion among the class. This part of Science Friday is challenging because coming up with appropriate questions is very difficult. Students must make sure that they are not repeating what their article has said, and have two worthy questions, not something obvious or implied. Additionally, it is strenuous to pick a unique topic every week because some articles do not spark as much of an interest as others, so it would be hard to create class discussion. Lastly, Honors Science is challenging because of the many formidable labs. For example, Density of Gasses was a challenging lab we had. Before starting the lab, a whole class block was used to explain all the procedures of the lab. Additionally, students were required to take a quiz on the lab, the tools and equipment, and safety procedures the next class where the actual lab would be
