Environmental Science and Sustainability (SCI201 -1504A -07) Instructor: Trena Woolridge Unit 4- Discussion Board Amanda Kranning October 27, 2015 Eutrophication is a syndrome of ecosystem responses to human activities that fertilize water bodies with nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P), often leading to changes in animal and plant populations and degradation of water and habitat quality.(Cloern, Krantz, & Hogan, 2013) Eutrophication forms when an abundance of nitrogen and phosphorus increases growth within an environment.
On 03/02/2017, I, Chad Agnew, was working as a patrol officer for the Wichita State University Police Department, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. At approximately 1551 hours I was in Human Resources when I heard other officers get dispatched to Jardine Hall Room 201 for a panic alarm. I notified dispatch that I would be enroute since Human Resources in close to Jardine Hall. When I was approaching Jardine, I observed a male wearing a hat with shoulder length curly hair standing outside the front doors on the east side of Jardine. As I was entering the building, I walked past the male.
This semester I also learned how to word rules with right way more and how to be specific with procedures. I made a mock classroom policy about a year ago and after that lesson I made modifications to it. I got excited because it was part of our discipline 2, and I got more feedback on which I need another eye to look at for me. I took the comments and made more to policy and proud of my end product.
Overall, I believe the assignments were a glimpse into what to expect in later semesters, especially with how overbearing tasks will be especially in my
I didn’t especially feel like I gained much from feedback, but I definitely learned some more from other student’s discussion posts. It made me wonder about optimal ways to work social media into a site design beyond just including links to the services. • What happened that felt particularly challenging? Why was it challenging to me?
Honestly I like writing and reading and hearing people’s take on a text. This class, which was filled with all of that, however I did not like and my attitude clearly reflected that. Every student learns differently and personally no matter how much I favor the subject, I vibe off of my environment. My table mates. The life of the class.
My view of the world changed a ton after taking this class. Before taking this class, I didn't know much about other countries, and what was happening around the world, but now I know what is happening worldwide. At the beginning of the school year, all of my friends were talking about how hard this class was supposed to be, and telling me I might should
‘Station Eleven’ written by Emily St.John Mandel illustrates the modern world through various aspects, by both condemning and celebrating it. She communicates to her audience that even though there are many things that should be criticised, we should not take what we have for granted. Through her non-linear text, she emphasises the vulnerability of individuals who rely on technology, yet the achievements society has made and its immense benefits. She conveys the deep necessity of art and the beauty of it through the numerous references.
I was most engaged in this course when I was doing the research for this paper. Filtering through all the research and figuring out what is valuable information was the most exciting part for me. Additionally, finding information and connecting it to a suspect is the most satisfying part of my job. Writing the actual research paper has been the second most engaging thing during this course. It is difficult for me because I know I am not a great writer, but there are improvements in my writing since starting college.
Many lives were lost on that day. There was an immeasurable amount of sorrow, emptiness, and confusion among New York residents, and terrible fear and panic across the rest of the United States. The country lost approximately three thousand people to this unforgettable attack. Over three hundred firemen, cops, and paramedics sacrificed their lives to help others who might not have otherwise made it, the ultimate show of dedication to their jobs and passion for helping others(“911 Death Statistics”). “In addition to the loss of life, survivors were exposed to hazardous dust and debris from the collapse of the buildings, and many people endured psychological trauma” (Murphy).
Overall, this board meeting made me feel as if I made a difference in my
psychology would be my most challenging. All though it my favorite subject it’s not an easy class. I have a really hard time with the terms used in psychology. I got a D on my first text which was very depressing, but now I know what to expect and I now know what kind of notes I should be taking.
I’m only taking 5 classes this year, which makes my life a little less stressing. My toughest subject this year was probably Economics. It was something different, a new experience. I was introduced to a whole new level of vocabulary and it was tough to memorize. I also did horrible in the tests, but I was able to push through that
So, we created a group chat, in which we could share our ideas, findings and concerns
Math has been one of my favorite subjects and I really liked Algebra this year as well. Although Spanish was the hardest class I have ever took, I learned it is fun to learn new languages. It may sound weird but, running has become something that I like to do and I am trying to start a habit of running everyday. Reading books has become one of my main pastimes this year because of the reading that we did in English.
