For many years, a problem took place in The United States. The problem was segregation. Segregation was evil and unacceptable to non-white people, it also resulted in causing people to believe things in negative ways, not allowing everybody to have equal rights as each other, and causing both physical and verbal mistreatment. Segregation is wrong because it can cause people to believe things in negative ways. For example,” Justice John Marshall Harlan wrote an explanation in a position or power even if they were technically “equal” with others” (Source C). This shows that people can be influenced into believing that they are better than another group. This also shows that white people believed they were more superior than colored people. In addition, in 1892, a case begins when Homer Plessy bought a first class train ticket for a white people only car in Louisiana (Source C). For example, Rosa Parks deciding to stay in her seat on the bus and not moving made people boycott against riding the bus (Source A). This shows that segregation not only affects blacks, but also affects whites. This also shows that segregation leads to many bad things, including riots and boycotts. In addition, Rosa Parks declining to sit in the back of an Alabama bus caused her to be fined $10 (Source A). This shows that she was charged for not sitting in the back of the bus. This also shows that just because she was black shouldn’t be a reason why she couldn’t sit in the front of the bus. Some people may support segregation, but if it was aimed towards the other side, those people won’t accept it because it’s toward them this time.
