We were asked to correctly communicate these findings as we tested each of the substances she had encountered with both water and hexane. In experiment number three, The Relationship Between the Volume of a Gas and the Temperature, we where given a list of materials and asked to come up with our own procedure, which we did using zip lock bags filled with air, and submerged fully in a measured amount of water in order to find the volume, and then the change in volume when the temperature of the water was increased. In the fourth experiment we were asked to find the temperature of heated water, based on the cold and warm water. The experiment also required that each section be preformed several times in order to ensure accuracy, and also asked that the experimental responsibilities be split up between lab partners, each doing a section of the testing. This gave us an opportunity to work together with our fellow lab partners, with no one person doing the bulk of the work.
“It was a pleasure to burn.” Guy Montag, the main character of Fahrenheit 451, ignites a stash of illegal books and watches with glee as the knowledge they hold turns to ash. Fahrenheit 451 takes place in a dystopian society, where books are outlawed and the value of knowledge is forgotten. While Ray Bradbury’s novel uses outside ignition to burn knowledge and thought to ash, today’s society is creating a classroom where soon all of our books may reach 451℉ and burn us all with them. In Fahrenheit 451, school becomes a place of indoctrination rather than education and any deep or creative thought is extinguished.
Furthermore, my peers and I created a model or an activity, related to the week’s lesson, to illustrate a concept in chemistry.
As an incoming Junior, I was able to join a lab of graduate students who were researching brain development in drosophila after mutating its DNA sequence. Right away I was enthralled. I loved the endless possibilities that came with experimentation, even when though our results were inconclusive. My experience in the program also taught me to think independently as I was separated from my peers.
I think there should be an increase in formative assessment testing after each concept is taught to see if the student is retaining the information and meeting the standards for his/her level which then helps formulate a realistic and effective
Standardized testing ugh. The absolute worst part of school. Testing is so dreadful because it’s time consuming, forget consuming it’s devouring, teachers and students don’t get the graded test back fast enough, and last but definitely not least students already have to study for classroom test weekly now you want to overload their brains! This why I am against standardize test. These test have a desire to devour classroom time and brain capacity.
I came into my first college writing class feeling prepared thanks to you and your investment in me as a student in your AP Lang class. I developed as a writer more than I ever had in your class, and it definitely helped me in my college writing class this semester. I already knew how important it was to revise and continuously critically think about my writing, as well as the importance of multiple drafts and peer review. My English 110 class this semester was very similar to yours because we also did multiple drafts where I could revise my paper as many times as needed. The big difference was that the focus was on different genres and how to appeal to those, which was something new compared to my high school English courses.
As evident from the topic of my Final Project, Obedience vs Disobedience, my research paper is based on a true story of my personal narrative. Being raised in a joint Muslim family system, where excessive importance is given to respect parents and grandparents and submit to their wishes. I decided to challenge my father’s authority in selecting a major of my undergraduate study of my own choice. I resisted his authority with great zeal and made him realized that he is wrong in forcing me to go against my own wishes. But once I found him helpless and falling apart, I submitted to his authority not because of his fear but for being there for me and my family throughout his life 2.
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.

In the first place my article, I observe composing to be somewhat baffling. At times I experience difficulty expounding on things I truly don't place myself in an approach to truly focus, to me I surmise that is one of the numerous motivation behind why I experience difficulty doing my exposition. Notwithstanding when I put my psyche to focus despite everything I have entanglement considering the work. I truly think my brain does truly be elsewhere rather on my school work. When I see that I am experiencing issues with my work I listen to music to get my psyche off of the things that I tend to focus and concentrate on my school work.

My journey in this English 3001 course during the past ten weeks, and over the course of taking is English class I have grown and learned more that I thought it is necessary for me to know as a student. Moreover, now that I have completed the English course my skills are better that I am capable to meet the university standard writing requirements. Writing project 3 has shown me the importance of writing something that is of interest for you, an issue that you are passionate about. I think that I have started to get somewhat better at the structuring of my writing and using outlines before I jump into a draft. I am no longer as scared and hesitant to write, as I was the first writing project. I think a good goal that I accomplished from this project was using diverse sources in my writing. I was able to utilize a magazine post, newspaper article and research journals to form my argument and provide support.
I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself.
